as my wife was saying goodbye and heading out to work
during a very loving, sensual - bordering on getting very interesting
kiss goodbye
right as my world began to melt away
into her
our son ran up to us
smashing into us with a hearty, fond morning hug
wanting to also give love
"I've been PBS'ed," I say to her
good feeling gone
sweet boy - bad timing
ahh parenting

We are still having a huge problem getting our son to stay in his bed. Talk about sweet boy, bad timing. It's crazy, but if he falls asleep in his bed on his own it's after 11:00 and we're both exhausted. We've tried to let him fall asleep with us and then put him in his bed, then he smashes through the door at around 1:00 am. This week since he was sick and he and my wife stayed home all week, she decided to put his bed in our room next to our bed. It worked better, but he still wants to sleep with us. I put him in his own bed around 12:00 last night and he's still asleep this morning. I'm really enjoying the peace and quiet. Any other Mom's having issues like this. My wife and I love our son very much, but we could use some alone time at a reasonable hour if you know what I mean.
Have a great day!

I'm sure it sounds terrible, but that is my greatest fear about having kids; losing alone time with my beloved. We don't have children yet, we've been together for 13 years and talking about starting a family for about the last 8.

It is a big sacrifice and one that I've been making for over 20 years, but worth every minute to me. I have several friends that don't ever want kids because they say they will never be willing to give up their freedom. It's cool either way. I got married at 22 and had 2 girls within the first 3 years of our marriage (they are now 20 and 18). My husband and I got custody of our nephew when he was 3 (he will be 16 tomorrow). 4 years ago my Wife and I got custody of her cousins little girl (she is now 6) and the following year she adopted her cousins baby boy (he is now 3).

Never in my wildest dream when I had those two little girls years ago, did I imagine that I would go on to "have" 3 more kids. It hasn't always been easy, but it's never boring to say the least. Every time my Mom visits she just goes on and on about how happy and filled with love our house is. I'm sure she is ready for peace and quiet when she leaves, but while she is here she is amazed.

I guess what I'm trying to say is do what's right for you and have a great life!!
